Pastel Paintings For A Happy Easter
Happy Easter and Passover!
Shown are some recent pastel colored paintings in celebration of Easter colors. I've been changing up my color combinations and playing with a softer, lighter palette. This spring-influenced color choice is working well for some of my abstract flower paintings. I've been really into painting floral abstracts - more on that topic below.
Small Textured Painting in Pastel Colors
The first artwork shown here, Pastel Textures for Easter, is a small 4" x 6" x .8" acrylic painting on cradled wood panel. Light pink, yellow, turquoise, orange and baby blue are the main pastel colors in this texture painting. I used a lot of paint and acrylic medium to create the peaks and shapes on the panel. Below you can see closeup images of the pastel painting that show the lively, vibrant texture of the artwork from different angles.

Abstract Wild Flower Painting in Pastels
This larger square painting Wild Flowers, Dreaming of Spring in Pastel Colors, April 2019, measures 24" x 24" and is part of a series of abstract flower paintings. The artwork is very textured with different shades of yellow, orange, pink, blue, green and muIticolor. I started the floral abstract series on the first official day of spring when it was freezing cold and snowing in Toronto. On that day and on, I've been really looking forward to warmer spring weather and the end of the cold, winter. Pastel Abstract Painting in Progress
The third artwork shown here is a rectangular flower painting in pastel colors canvas. I'm still deciding if this art piece is finished or not. This new painting in progress measures 18" x 24" and has a softer feel than the two pastel paintings shown above. Light oranges, yellows, greens and blues dominate the color palette of this artwork. The painting is currently hanging up in my Toronto art studio. I'm looking at it frequently to decide whether to work on it more. Once the artwork is finished, I'll list it in my online Art Shop in the abstract painting category.
Cute Chick Video Over a Pastel Painting
Below in the video you can see an adorable chick coming out of an egg! The video is over a large painting I've been working on for a while and keep changing. In its current state, the artwork has lots of pastels, especially pale blues and yellows. My husband and kid tell me they like it as it and that it's finished. Like the floral abstract painting above, I'm going to wait and look at it for a while before deciding.
I'm not the only Torontonian who's super excited about spring, blooming flowers and warmer weather. Today is Good Friday, the start of the Easter long weekend in Ontario. It's also the first night of Passover tonight. I wish everyone a very happy Easter and Passover!
