Recently Sold Painting: Motherhood Hit Me Like A Train, Overnighter #2
Thanks to the Toronto Cast of Harry Potter
Sara Farb and the Toronto cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child purchased my "Motherhood Hit Me Like A Train, Overnighter #2" for Sarah Afful, a.k.a. Hermione Granger's baby shower! Shown is a photo of the generous actors giving Sarah my abstract painting as a gift. Thank you to Sara Farb who stars as the character Delphi Diggory in the Harry Potter Mirvish production currently playing in Toronto at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre. Sara purchased the painting from the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair 61 in July 2022. I didn't realize she was in the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child until I was seated at the theatre with my family waiting for the show to start and saw her profile in the playbill! Sara kindly sent me the photo of her and the cast members presenting my painting as a baby shower gift to Sarah Afful. My eldest child is a huge Harry Potter fan, as am I. We've both read the entire Harry Potter series and I've devoured all of J.K. Rowling's books, including the Cormoran Strike Series by Robert Galbraith, a.k.a. J.K. Rowling (excellent murder mystery books that I've previously recommended here and here). My "Motherhood Hit Me Like A Train, Overnighter #2" artwork was painting with watercolour paint and metallics on black paper. the shimmery magical effect and train theme appealed to Sara and the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. They framed my painting so beautifully and I was so grateful. Shown below is the painting "Motherhood Hit Me Like A Train, Overnighter #2" before sale to the cast of Harry Potter.
Thank you to the Toronto cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for buying my painting and giving me a few cool points with my eldest child!
My family and I loved the show and had a blast at the theatre. Your acting and the special effects were incredible! The audience was filled with Harry Potter fans of all ages and it was wonderful to be back in a packed theatre in Toronto. Your performance and the photo I received after show (yes, I turned off my phone like a good theatre-fan during the play) made the whole Harry Potter theatre experience so special for me and my family. We picked up great merchandise too - a cute Hedwig owl stuffed toy, scarves in Gryffindor (of course!) and Ravenclaw house colours! I'm saving the playbill too, of course. It's not every day that the cast of a top play chips in to purchase one of my paintings.
