Maurizio Pellegrin's Art Studio in Venice, Italy
Maurizio Pellegrin's Art Studio in Venice, Italy
In the summers of 2010 and 2011 I studied art in Venice, Italy. Maurizio Pellegrin was one my professors during those summers. At the end of the summer semester, Maurizio invited his art students for a studio visit. Like his artwork, Maurizio's studio is clean, minimal, and carefully ordered.

Maurizio Pellegrin in his Venice, Italy Art Studio
Maurizio Pellegrin's art studio is in a former 13th century Palazzo in the middle of Venice, Italy. The high ceilings, natural light, and stunning architectural features make this space the ideal artist studio. The wood ceiling beams are typical of living and working spaces in Venice, Italy.
Art studio and living spaces interweave in Maurizio's studio. Finished art pieces rest beside Maurizio's artworks in progress and other artworks he's collected. These older works of his own and the pieces he collects from other artists' serve to inspire him in creating new art.
A trained painter and sculptor, Maurizio Pellegrin works in mixed media, drawing, photography, film, installation and glass work. Art students and visitors to Maurizio's studio get an invaluable glimpse into the artist's processes and current projects. Some of the artworks in progress may never be shown publicly or even make it out of the artist's studio.
Shown here are photographs I took of Maurizio Pellegrin's Venice, Italy art studio in August 2011. The photographs show Maurizio's studio space along with some finished artwork, books, art collection, and works in progress. You can view more of Maurizio Pellegrin's artwork on his website.
