Daily Drawings of Teddy Bear & Toy Bird

My daily drawings have focused on a teddy bear and toy bird. For over a month in 2015, I drew these two stuffed animal toys together. Shown here are a few past drawings of the teddy and toy bird.

This daily drawing project on toy animals captured my attention for far longer than I expected it to last.Over 6 months of daily drawing in a row!

Some days I've had to force myself to draw. But most days I couldn't wait to pick up my pencil and drawing paper and get started. For me drawing is a meditation. Drawing is a time to let my mind rest, focusing on capturing the toy animals in pencil on paper.

At around the 100 day mark, I almost messed up the project and skipped a day of drawing. Luckily I remembered to draw (dragging myself out of bed to do so!). Since then, I've been more focused on drawing each day. On some days I drew more than once a day.

For over a month in 2015, I drew the teddy bear and toy bird shown in these drawings. During this time the toy elephant still made an occasional appearance in my drawings (the large toy elephant was the focus of my daily drawing project for many months). But then I branched out to drawing other stuffed animals, including the teddy bear and toy bird.

Each day I rearranged the teddy bear and toy bird so that they seemed to be interacting together. Sometimes they faced one another or rested beside each other in the still-life set-up.
