“Look at life with the eyes of a child.” - Henri Matisse

“Look at life with the eyes of a child.” - Henri MatisseA great reminder to view life and the world through the eyes of children.  I’m finding this quote from Matisse to be helpful these days.  My kids see the joy in life, even with all the Coronavirus-related restrictions in Canada. Kids notice the small but beautiful things about life: flowers starting to bloom are fascinating and delightful.  Video phone calls with family and friends bring joy and silliness to our daily routine.  Learning to bake and cook is fun for all ages.  Collaborative art projects and digital painting and drawing apps are enjoyable.  Old fashioned board games, science experiments and art techniques help pass time.  Many of these home activities are messy but I no longer mind.  Rules and limits in our house before Toronto COVID-19 closures and restrictions are not applicable anymore!  We’ve relaxed some things to keep our children busy at home and for the sake of parental sanity.  I hope that you’re keeping busy and healthy during the coronavirus worldwide pandemic.  If there’s anything I can do to brighten your home or life during this scary, strange time, please let me know.  I’ve been finding it difficult to write, which is why I haven’t been posting as much as normal.  My goal during this pandemic is to publish a new article on this Art Blog once a week.
