International Women's Day
Art Show in Celebration of Motherhood!
In honour of International Women's Day, the Gallery at the J is showing my "Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train" paintings. This solo art exhibition is open to the public and will be on view until March 27th, 2024, at 750 Spadina Avenue, located on the main floor of the Miles Nadal JCC at Bloor Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The main gallery space is on the main floor and there are more paintings on view on the third floor. The exhibition is open every day, with operating hours from 6 am to 10 pm on weekdays and 7 am to 7 pm on weekends, giving visitors ample time to view the artworks.
The exhibition features a range of paintings, including various black and white, multicolour, and metallics on black paper paintings, all of which are framed. The artworks range from 34" x 26" to two larger paintings that measure 40" x 40" framed. This show includes six "Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train" paintings that were all created in 2024, including a Diptych on canvas titled "Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train (Diptych), Rosie-Coloured Windows."
Three black and white paintings are in the middle of the multicoloured artworks, making for a dynamic and engaging exhibition. Visitors to the Gallery at the J will have the opportunity to explore my unique perspective on motherhood and artistic expression.
The exhibition takes a deep dive into the joys, challenges, and complexities of motherhood, using a variety of colours, textures, and shapes to explore the theme. The artworks invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences of motherhood and parenthood.
The "Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train" paintings on the third floor include framed and matted artworks. Overall, this is an exceptional opportunity for art lovers, collectors, and anyone interested in exploring the intersection of motherhood and art to immerse themselves in a thought-provoking abstract art exhibition.
