Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train, Grey Line #9, 2022, Ink on Paper, 12" x 9." Framed in a 16” x 12” frame.

The Grey Line abstract painting series is part of my Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train Series. This original artwork is painted with black ink on heavy weight watercolour paper.

Parenting is 24-7 and requires countless all-nighters with babies and children. The black, grey and white tonal paintings in my “Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train” series reflect the all-consuming, always-on-call role of motherhood. Many nights rocking newborn babies felt like I was on a never-ending train to nowhere. As a new parent I felt derailed as an artist, but always knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel as the children grow. I eventually found a way to get back on track and set a new route.

This original artwork is painted with black ink on heavy weight watercolour paper. Instead of paint brushes, I use toy trains to make black and grey lines on the white page. The line artwork is matted and framed in a black matt frame. Shown on view in Toronto in March 2024.

Please note that this original painted artwork on paper is framed in a 16” x 12” frame.

Delivery is free within the Greater Toronto area.  Other locations may incur additional shipping costs.
