Meet Me at Wychwood Barns: Art, Community & Creativity This Summer

Join Me In the Summer —

Art, Community & Creativity at Wychwood Barns, Toronto

Toronto Artist Rachael Grad's Wychwood Barns art studio

I’m delighted to share that I’ll be participating in art events and open studios including a lively, juried art show happening at the iconic Artscape Wychwood Barns in Toronto! This one-day event is more than just an art market—it's a vibrant celebration of local creativity and community spirit, held in tandem with the always-popular Wychwood Barns Saturday Farmers’ Market.

🗓 Date: Saturday July 5th, 2025
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
📍 Location: Artscape Wychwood Barns, 601 Christie St., Toronto

Set in a beautifully repurposed streetcar repair facility, Wychwood Barns offers a truly unique atmosphere—historic industrial charm meets green urban oasis. The space fills with the sounds of live music, the smell of fresh baked bread and herbs, and the laughter of kids playing in the park nearby.

At my booth, you’ll find a fresh selection of original artwork, prints, and small works on paper. One of my most recent series includes "Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train" abstract line paintings created using toy trains as painting tools—a playful, deeply personal exploration of motherhood, movement, and mark-making. These pieces were born from my studio practice as a parent-artist, where toys, chaos, and creativity often collide in surprising ways.

Whether you're looking to start or grow your art collection, pick up a one-of-a-kind gift, or just have a conversation about process and inspiration, I’d love to meet you. I’ll be there all day, happy to talk about my materials, how each piece was made, or even just chat about what you see in the work—because everyone brings something different to a painting.

And while you're there, don’t miss the farmers’ market! Grab a local coffee, stock up on fresh produce, or enjoy lunch from one of the amazing food vendors. The whole event is family-friendly, dog-friendly, and joyfully low-pressure—perfect for a relaxed Saturday outing.

I will also have a booth at the Wychwood Barns Farmer's Market on these July 2025 dates:

  • Saturday July 12th 2025
  • Saturday July 26th 2025

Find my booth with artwork, art cards, art scarves and artsy gifts near the coffee both between 8 am and 1 pm on those Saturdays.

Come for the food, stay for the art—and take a little of both home with you. Hope to see you there between 10 AM and 4 PM!
