My First Virtual Art Show
Mixed Media Collage Artwork in the Artsy NYSS Alumni Show
Shown here is a screenshot of my Blue and White Mixed Media collage on Artsy in the 2020 NYSS Alumni Show. The original collage artwork was created in late 2019 along with a number of other travel inspired photo collages. In past years, the New York Studio School (NYSS) Alumni Art Show is displayed in different New York City art galleries.
A New Way to View Art...
This year because of COVID-19 closures in New York and elsewhere, the annual art show is being held virtually on Artsy from June 10th to July 31th, 2020. My first ever virtual art exhibition is with 215 other NYSS alumni. Part of the proceeds of any artwork sold through the show will benefit the wonderful New York Studio School. According to the art show press release,
“One of the school’s founding principles, espoused by both Founding Dean Mercedes Matter and Dean Graham Nickson, is the idea that it takes time and commitment for an artist to truly arrive at something significant.”
